CHROMEBOOK PROGRAM
At QCA every student receives a personalized Chromebook, and is permitted to take it home starting from Middle School. K-5 students have their own computers for in-school use. Our approach involves utilizing various online platforms be it for the core TEKS aligned courses or the religious course. The goal is to enhance learning while instilling ethical and controlled online usage. Through open discussions, we guide students on safe and ethical technology practices. In the 11th and 12th grades, students bring their own devices for their Dallas College classes. Emphasizing that everything comes with responsibilities, we guide our students in understanding the importance of balance and mindful engagement with technology. At QCA, our program goes beyond providing technology; its about empowering them to navigate the digital landscape responsibly and learning how to use it as a tool to support learning – a crucial 21st century skill.
MORE THAN DOWNLOADING, COPYING & PASTING
At QCA, we go beyond teaching our students to simply download; we empower them to create and innovate using technology. Through interdisciplinary content and hands-on projects, technology is seamlessly integrated into daily learning. We leverage platforms such as Flipgrid, Bitmoji, Google Classroom, IXL, Raz Kids, Khan Academy, Canva etc to enhance their classroom learning. The afterschool tech club introduces students to Robotics, Algorithms, Physics, Engineering, Python, Digital Arts and Game Design provided by iCode – national computer science education franchise that differentiates itself in the fast-growing computer science education industry with its proprietary curricula and a robust menu of offerings.
